Supply chain transparency
My commitment to supply chain transparency
I prioritise sourcing materials from responsible suppliers who openly share information about their environmental and ethical standards. My aim is to share this information with purchasers so you can be assured that my jewellery is genuinely sustainable and ethical. To ensure full transparency, I provide a 'Transparency Statement' on all my product pages, giving you information about the origins and ethical standards of the materials used.
Provenance undocumented
If I cannot verify the origins of certain materials, I will clearly mark them as 'provenance undocumented' in the product details, indicating that I am unable to confirm the supply chain information. In such cases, I am diligently searching for ethical and transparent alternative suppliers.
Ethically cut
In some cases, I may not be able to verify the exact source of the stones, but I can confirm that they have been cut by a skilled lapidary artisan following 'fair trade' principles. I refer to these gemstones as 'ethically cut'. This means that the artisan sets their own rates and works in their own workshop. This is an important distinction from factory environments where workers are often paid non-living wages.
Trusted suppliers
I take pride in using materials that reflect my dedication to sustainable and ethical values. I thoroughly research my suppliers to ensure they are genuinely responsible and align with my standards. I am continuously searching for responsible suppliers and expanding my knowledge of sustainable and ethical materials to ensure my creations care for our earth and people.
Sustainable sourcing + manufacturing
- Recycled metals: I prioritise metals that come from suppliers who use recycled and/or responsibly mined sources, reducing the environmental impact of traditional mining.
- Innovative refining technology: I work with suppliers who employ advanced, environmentally friendly refining techniques to minimise waste and enhance sustainability.
- Waste reduction:Â I select suppliers dedicated to minimising waste and promoting recycling and reuse within their production cycles.
Ethical standards + certifications
- Accreditations: The suppliers I work with are accredited by reputable organisations, ensuring compliance with high ethical, environmental, and workforce standards. Examples of such accreditations include the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA), the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), ISO 14001 for Environmental Management, ISO 9001 for Quality Management, and SA8000 for Social Accountability.
- Fair labour practices: I choose suppliers who adhere to stringent ethical standards, providing fair labour practices and safe working conditions.
- Traceability + transparency: I prioritise suppliers that maintain full traceability of their materials, ensuring they are free from conflict and ethically sourced.
