Artisan diary: The story behind the design
One of the most magical sights of my childhood was watching bubbles float gracefully in the air, their surfaces shimmering with a myriad of colours, reflecting the world around them. In the backyard of our family home, with a simple bottle of soapy water and a plastic wand, I would create these ethereal globes, losing myself in the simple act of blowing and watching them ascend.
Each bubble was like a delicate dream, floating momentarily before vanishing, reminding me of the fleeting nature of those innocent days. The joy wasn’t just in the creation, but in the chase – trying to catch them before they popped, laughing as they slipped through fingers, leaving just a hint of moisture and the promise of another chance.
Inspired by those moments of pure, childlike wonder, I decided to craft a tribute. Using the reflective and timeless quality of sterling silver, I designed a pendant. It showcased a young girl, her cheeks puffed and lips pursed, mid-blow, with bubbles beginning their whimsical journey around her. Each bubble, meticulously crafted, seemed to capture and reflect a world of memories within its contours.

It represents a momentary escape back to days when the world was full of wonder, and happiness could be found in a bottle of soap and water.
