Attachments & Fasteners 22 Jan - 1 Feb 2025

About the exhibition
Attachments & Fasteners allows artists to display their personal understanding of connection through jewellery and small objects of various materials. Connection is an unavoidable, integral part of the human experience, this exhibition intends to highlight this by focusing on how these relationships enhance or perhaps hinder our lives.
Artist statement
Welcome to The Storybook Pendants, a collection inspired by the theme of attachment and crafted to celebrate the bonds that shape us. Intentionally made from recycled silver, these miniature storybook pendants reflect my belief in the importance of our connection to the past and a commitment to a future where we embrace the opportunity to create anew. Each pendant symbolises a unique attachment, from the quiet strength we find within ourselves to the enduring bonds we share with loved ones and the natural world.
The Owl pendant embodies introspection and our attachment to self. Often seen as guardians of hidden wisdom, owls remind us to seek meaning within. This pendant honours the courage to know oneself deeply and carry that self-awareness through life.
The Bunny pendant represents vulnerability and our attachment to others. The gentle bunny, a symbol of trust and openness, captures the tender balance of sharing ourselves and accepting others. This piece celebrates the warmth of relationships built on kindness and understanding.
The Cottage pendant speaks to the comfort we find in cherished places and the memories that create a sense of home. This piece reflects our deep-rooted bonds with family and the spaces that nurture us.
