The Jewellery Makers Vault

Practical resources for jewellery makers, created from real experience at the bench.

The Jewellery Makers Vault is a growing collection of thoughtfully designed tools and resources created to make the practical side of jewellery making a little easier.

Founded by Australian jeweller, artist, educator and writer Toni-Maree Savage, the Vault grew from the everyday experience of working at the jewellery bench and building a creative practice.

It brings together the resources makers often find themselves searching for: practical reference information, calculators, templates, guides, and tools for the studio and the business behind it.

The aim is simple: less searching, less second-guessing and more confidence in the work you do.

Created by a jeweller, for jewellers

Every Jewellery Makers Vault resource begins with a practical need.

Sometimes that's information you need quickly at the bench. Sometimes it's a calculation you don't want to keep doing from scratch. Sometimes it's a better way to price, plan, document or organise part of your jewellery practice.

The Vault turns those everyday needs into clear, useful resources that are easy to understand and genuinely helpful in the studio. Rather than adding more complexity to your practice, each resource is intended to help simplify your making.

Resources for the bench and beyond

The Jewellery Makers Vault isn't only about making jewellery. It recognises all the other work that surrounds a creative practice.

Resources may support areas such as:

  • bench references and practical jewellery-making information
  • measurements, conversions and calculations
  • pricing and costing
  • studio planning and organisation
  • documentation and record keeping
  • creative and business planning

Some resources are simple references designed to answer a question in seconds. Others provide more structured support for the business and organisational side of a jewellery practice.

What connects them is their purpose: to give jewellery makers useful information and tools when they need them.

Made to support your own way of working

Jewellery practices are different. Tools, suppliers, terminology, processes and business models vary from maker to maker and from country to country.

The Vault isn't meant to suggest there is only one correct way to work. Instead, its resources are designed to give you clear information and practical starting points that you can use alongside your own tools, suppliers, experience and studio practices.

The Vault will keep growing

The Jewellery Makers Vault is an evolving collection.

New bench references, calculators, templates, guides and other practical resources will continue to be developed in response to the real questions and challenges that arise through jewellery making and creative practice.
