Conscious Adornment 22 April - 4 May 2024

About the exhibition
Conscious Adornment delves into the impactful role of jewellery in activism. Featuring work from multiple talented local jewellery artists that address environmental sustainability, diversity and inclusion, and social justice for a better world.
Artist statement
The Rising Tides Collection seeks to spotlight the urgent plight of Pacific Island nations facing climate-induced sea level rise. Crafted from upcycled brass, recycled sterling silver and Australian shore finds, each piece is more than jewellery; it's a statement of solidarity and a call to action, marked with the coordinates of those most at risk. This initiative aims to spark dialogue, foster awareness, and motivate personal efforts against climate change. Beyond adornment, the rings serve as educational tools, championing sustainable living and support for vital climate actions. With 30% of sales pledged to climate projects, this collection embodies the power of art in rallying for a sustainable future, proving that collective, small actions can indeed protect our planet for generations to come.
